DepositProof Support

DepositProof helps renters organize rental condition documentation locally on their device. This page provides support guidance for the launch version.

Contact Support

Email hello@zacbatten.me and include the app version, device model, operating system version, and a short description of what happened.

Getting Started

  1. Create a rental record.
  2. Open Capture and choose a property, room, stage, and category.
  3. Add photos or videos, captions, tags, severity, and notes.
  4. Review records in Vault, Compare, and Export.

Where Is My Evidence Stored?

In the launch version, your rental documentation is stored locally on your device. No account or cloud login is required. If you delete the app or device data, local records may be removed unless you exported them first.

Exporting Reports

PDF reports can include property details, checklist summaries, room-by-room evidence, captions, recorded timestamps, issue tags, missing-media notes, and video evidence references. Video files may be listed in the report instead of embedded in the PDF.

Exporting App Data

Settings includes a JSON export for local records and a ZIP bundle option for available app-owned media and thumbnails. Review exported files before sharing because they may include private rental information.

Permissions

Camera and photo library permissions are used only when you choose to capture or import rental condition media. Microphone permission may be used when recording video. If permission is denied, open device settings and allow access for DepositProof, or choose another import method.

Deleting Data

You can delete individual evidence items, selected property data, or all local app data from Settings. Export records you want to keep before deleting.
